With his Deric Rush Band, he was a top notch performer in the Indy/Bloomington area during the 90’s. As a meticulous performer and player, his frustrating search for competent service techs drove Deric to study to become an expert professional luthier. After obtaining a double major degree in fine arts and science from Vincennes University, Deric attended the famous Bryan Gallop Guitar Hospital in Big Rapids, Michigan. In his typically determined fashion, he graduated ahead of schedule as the head of his class. Mr. Gallop recognized his potential, and personally instructed him in the further study of acoustic guitar design and repair, with emphasis on Gibson and Martin guitars.
For the last 15 years, Deric has dedicated his work to expert stringed instrument and electronics repair. Deric also services sound and recording equipment, solid state and tube amplification, and is authorized factory tech for many of our manufacturers. We have totally revamped and retooled Guitarworks’ tech shop to Deric’s specifications, and the volume of service has risen dramatically, driven by the satisfaction of his clients and the spread of his reputation as the very best in his field.
