Join us for the biggest FREE Rock show Center Grove has ever seen!

"Center Grove Rocks the Park" battle of the bands and talent competition will be this Saturday, May 12th at Center Grove Middle School Central.

This is an ALL DAY affair, with 11 central Indiana youth bands performing from 9am til 8pm! ADMISSION IS FREE!

Edie Caito, the organizer and brains of this concept, has arranged for the musicians to be treated like real rock stars, with an artists' "green room" for prep before their set, and a VIP meet and greet area, where the fans can get autographs and buy merchandise from the bands.

Proceeds go to The Independence Park Fund for the parks.

This is a fundraiser for our Center Grove's Independence Park expansion project. All funds raised will go to purchase new equipment for the park, and provide the youth of Center Grove a modern, safe place to congregate and have fun.

Again, this is a FREE event. Guitarworks will be setting the stage with professional performance gear, BIG, LOUD PA, and all the stuff needed to pull off a professional show!

We are always seeking opportunities to support live music for charitable events! We're proud to note that the vast majority of performers have been through Guitarworks Band Builders program, and see these young performers out before the public, using their talents and teamwork to ROCK HARD for a good cause!

Amazing food will be provided by "The NY Slice" food truck and "Der Pretzel" wagon. Our MC is Brooklyn, NY resident and game show guru Jason Block and there will be fun for the entire community.

The bands will be judged by a panel of local TV and radio celebrities. Winning bands will be based on two criteria:

50% by popular vote - everyone attending receives 5 voting tickets, and may add additional votes with $1 donated counting as one vote, - this is the fundraising part

50% by judge's score - bands will be judged on: Musical talent, Vocals, Appearance, Stage presence / Audience connection & Overall Performance

Additional fundraising efforts will include auctioning tickets to the upcoming Indianapolis KISS concert, LOTS of Mother's Day appropriate items from area merchants and craftsmen, food sales and more!

Here's the lineup. We hope you'll attend, listen, vote and have fun with us Saturday, May 12th at Center Groove Middle School Central

Finally, here are the band performance times:

9am - Isle5

10am - Luke and Kenzie

11am - Silver from The Flames

12pm - Bright Darkness

1pm - LeGiT

2pm - Mission One Level Zero

3pm - No Direction

4pm - Crash21

5pm - South Six 5

6pm - Side Affect

7pm - The M80s

The M80s are NOT in the competition, since Guitarworks is a sponsor, and Zane Franklin, son of Kevin and Rene Franklin, is in the band. But they will lay down a rockin' finale to a big day of fun and music!

Judges will tabulate their scores as the M80s perform, announcing the winners and awards at 8pm, crowning the grand champions and runners up.

Many thanks to our event sponsors: Guitarworks in Greenwood, Ego Picks, Stage One, In Tune GP and Victor and Marci Photography, as well as Edie Caito and the Independence Park Committee. Join us for the biggest FREE Rock show Center Grove has ever seen! See you there!

Thank You!

Our Special Olympics concert was a huge success. Many thanks to the Band Builders performers, parents and coaches, Ken Bucci Sound, and our corporate sponsors- Home Depot, Freedom 95.9fm and Grand Rental Station. We had the largest attendance of any of Guitarworks’ Charity Concerts to date. Between the tireless efforts of the Special Olympics volunteer staff and Guitarworks employees and volunteers, we raised a significant amount of money for Special Olympics – approximately 60% over their goal!

So thanks again to all the community who opened their hearts, their ears and their wallets to make this a great success.  The Special Olympics athletes- the gymnasts and cheerleading squad, gave us a demonstration of the activities and skills Special Olympics sponsors to enrich the quality of life of these wonderful families. The smiles on their faces, performing in front of the crowd, showed us all how important these activities are in building physical and social skills, and helping with kids overcome their various challenges. It also gave us an insight into the hearts of the selfless people who give their time to this incredible charity. God bless you all for the good work you are doing.

The bands were great- 7 band Builders group, plus LeGit, Theotokos, Bright Darkness, the M80s and Blue Moon Revue! 12 bands in all performed on the big outdoor stage, Bernies BBQ kept folks fed and happy, and a GREAT TIME was had by all . We’ll be doing it again in the fall, so thanks once more, and join us again in October!
